Banjara cushion with blue tassels

This striking cushion is made from a vintage Banjara bag. The Banjara are a semi nomadic ethnic group originating from Rajasthan. The textile is made from layers of thin cotton quilted together using very decorative stitching. The result is a strong and iconic textile that is great for cushions. This is a lovely old cushion, with some very good quilting and bands of decorative couched stitching.  The cushion is backed with indigo dyed vintage hemp, has a zip fastener and feather pad.
