This cushion is stunning! its made from an old Banjara textile that is embroidered with coarse wool in the most wonderful geometric patterns. The colours are all natural dyes, and the predominant colour is madder red. It is in good condition, apart from some losses on one of the bands of red which doesn't really show as the ground cotton is also dyed with madder. There are cowries shells round the edges and in the centre. I bought this textile after it had been converted into a cushion so I have left the original envelop back on it. This is in an attractive blue cotton, but I don't think it's indigo.
These old textiles are as rare as hens teeth now.
