These beautiful cushions are made from a lovely old strip-weave by the Baule ethnic group from the Ivory Coast. The textile was handloomed in narrow strips which were then sewn together to make a larger cloth. The pink stripe down the middle of the ikat woven centre is just delightful. For the back of the cushions I've used a vintage handwoven textile from the Songjiang weaving district of Shanghai and this gives a more modern twist to the lovely old patina of the Baule cloth. I've added a trim of baby tassels and lined the cushions to support the cloth. There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
