Cochineal ikat cushion

This cushion is made from a thick cotton vintage ikat from the island of Timor, Indonesia. The ikat is coloured with natural dyes, indigo and cochineal. The use of cochineal is rare in Indonesia so this is quite an unusual textile. The corners have hand made tassels and the back of the cushion is a vintage Buyi minority handwoven textile in a lovely indigo stripe.
There is a zip fastener and feather pad.
