Dai Wedding Blanket Cushion

These cushions are made from vintage textiles from different Chinese minority groups. The central panels come from a Dai wedding blanket, with the terracotta colour from sienna, a mineral dye commonly used in SW China. The blue striped borders and backs of the cushions are a thick cotton handwoven textile from the Buyi minority. The cushions have handmade tassels in bamboo yarn, zip fasteners and feather pads. There is a small area of weakness in one of the Dai panels which I have patched, and I've shown this on a photo.
