Floral cushions with stripey piping

These cushions are made from a vintage handloomed textile from East China. The textile is a thick cotton woven on a narrow loom about 20" wide. The cotton has then been screen printed with these lovely summery colours in a delighted floral design. The textile has a wonderful artisan quality to it with the odd smudge from the printing technique. The colours are quite typical of textiles from this era and I particularly like the strong blue used for some of the flowers. I think it looks more Mediterranean than English cottage garden. I've piped the edges with another vintage textile and this is a blue with red and green stripes and I think it works perfectly.
