Indigo resist cushions

This lovely blue pair of cushions is made from a vintage Chinese pugai (bedroll). The cotton textile is hand woven on narrow looms and then coloured with indigo and the pattern left behind where a paste resist has been applied. I liked this textile as the indigo colour is lovely, being strong and bright. Although there are some errors in the application of the pattern but i think this adds to its charm. The cushions are backed with a vintage Buyi minority hand woven textile. It is a very small check in light and dark indigo and is also really good. There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
