This cushion is made from a vintage Yoruba aso oke strip-weave that dates to the middle of the last century. The strip-weave is made from cotton and wild silk which gives it a wonderful greige colour. The strips have rows of lace holes which are very decorative. But best for me is the wonderful berry coloured stripes that run down the strips. Its a really gorgeous rich colour and in total contrast to the rest of the textile. I've backed the cushion with an antique linen dyed a similar berry colour and there is a zip fastener and feather pad.
