Yoruba Cushion With Yellow Stripes

This gorgeous cushion is made from a vintage Yoruba aso oke. The colour comprises warm tones of brown with yellow stripes down the weft. The browns are made up of a mix of cotton and wild silk harvested from the anaphe moth. The textile was woven with a floating zig zag weft but I've used the reverse of the textile for the right side of the cushion. The little rows of dots that you can see at intervals are where the floating weft stitches are anchored and i think is a lovey decorative detail. I've backed the cushions with a heavy linen in 'natural' and there are zip fasteners and deluxe feather pads.
