Beaded Lao cushion with fringe trim

These cushions are made from a contemporary handwoven shawl from Lao. I was delighted when I found it because if you look closely at the photos you will see that the white pattern is made from tiny white beads that have been woven in. This is a very time consuming process which leaves no margin for error and is a testament to the skill of the weaver. The cotton yarns are coloured with natural dyes. The green is closer to celadon and the brown a pinky mushroom. I've backed the cushions with brown dyed vintage hemp and added a green fringe trim. There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
