Dong indigo striped cushions

These lovely cushions are made from a contemporary hand loomed textile from the Dong ethnic minority in SW China. The textile is newly woven on old narrow width looms and by older women. The skills and desires to continue these traditional skills are lost by the younger generations. The colours are bright and beautiful natural dyes. Comprising two shades of indigo and the tan coloured is from Yam. The cushions are self backed and have handmade tassels at the corners. There are zip fasteners and feather pads.
