This pretty textile is a vintage chakla originating from the Saurashtra region of Gujarat. It was made 50/60 years ago and is cotton embroidery on a cotton base with some mirror work. A chakla is a decorative cover for plates of offerings and gifts during weddings and other ceremonies. The colours are all natural and it's in very good condition with a couple of losses to the mirrors. Its a useful size to fill wall space and is perfect for over a fireplace in a small room.
