This large vintage Banjara rumal is so perfect I had to frame it to preserve it's beauty. Pieces like this are so rare now in this sort of condition and I was lucky enough to find a couple. The quilting stitching is tiny and immaculate with wonderful couched pattern in the borders. The colours are natural dyes and the cotton ground textile is a lovely old madder red - brown. There are some original cowries for added decoration. This is a preserved piece of social history as well as a decorative textile used as wall art.
