Rabari chackla cushions

This chackla or wrapper was made by an expert needlewoman from the Rabari ethnic group in India. The needlework is exquisite and is impossible to find of this quality now. I have been lucky enough to secure a few pieces. All of the stitching is hand done, although later ric rac is used on some pieces where appropriate to save a huge amount of time. Not on this piece though! The quality is superb. The chackla is also adorned with multiple buttons, mirrors and little beaded tassels. I have mounted it on an antique hemp, dyed green to enhance the colours of the chackla.
