Red Dai lavender pillow

This lovely pillow is made from a vintage Dai minority textile fragment. The textile dates to the middle of the C20 and is in hand spun hand loomed cotton. The red colour comes from the mineral earth dye sienna. I’ve backed the cushions with a vintage handloomed green textile from East China. The gorgeous tassels fringe is also vintage. I’ve stuffed the pillow choc full of Provencal lavender selected for its long lasting scent.
