I am thrilled with how this has turned out! The textile is a vintage indigo Flores Sikka ikat, handwoven in a cotton mixed with some sort of bast fibre. This has made it into quite a strong and stiff cloth which is perfect for upholstery. The ottoman has a roll top with deep sides to make full use of the textile, and 2 rows of indigo piping. There are various tones of indigo in the ikat, mixed with brown and stone coloured pinstripes. All natural dyes, and this gives it a wonderful organic feel. By contrast the legs are a modern style in solid unpolished beech. The construction of the ottoman comprises traditional materials such as coconut coir and rubberized hair. No foam is used.
