This ottoman coffee table has real wow factor. The top is made from a length of iconic 1960s kuba cloth by the Shoowa ethnic group from the DRC. The cloth is made from tightly woven fibre from the raphia palm and is stuff with rubberised hair to give it a firm structure whilst still being soft enough to sit on. The base of the table is steel that has been oxidized and waxed and the corners have pads to raise it very slightly off the ground to protect the floor. The overall patination of the base works beautifully with the kuba cloth.
