Kuba Cloth cushion with cowrie shells

This is a beauty. This cushion is one of 2 that were made from a framed mid century Kuba textile. The cloth is in such good condition because it was framed. It's a beautiful dark brown dyed raphia decorated with couched embroidery stitching and cowrie shells. This cushion is best used for decorative purposes rather than for sitting on. The raphia is strong but the threads will part if the cowrie shells are pulled. The cushion has a plain vintage hemp back, with zip closure and feather pad.
