These wonderful baskets are woven from grass and adorned with cowrie shells. They were made by the Hausa ethnic group from Nigeria predominantly. The baskets are useful as well as beautiful and are now extremely rare to find in good vintage condition. The leather base has been replaced so it will sit happily on polished surfaces.
