This show-stopping cushion is made from a thick and strong cotton panel that was originally part of a Buyi minority baby carrier. The textile is in amazing condition and the colours are spectacular. The panel itself is 17" square and I have added a 1.5" border in faded indigo cotton, taken from the border of a Zhuang wedding blanket. This helps to frame the textile so that most of it is seen on the front face of the cushion.
The back is another Buyi textle, this time a vintage homespun in indigo with a geometric pattern just discernable close up, in a darker colour. There is a zip fastener and feather pad.
This textile in good condition is unique and extremely rare.
