Large Zhuang wedding blanket cushions

These very striking big cushions are made from a vintage Zhuang wedding blanket. The silk is coloured with natural dye and the lovely rust colour is probably the mineral dye senna. The senna colour would have originally been much darker but has faded and lightened over time, giving the cushions a beautiful patina. The cushions are back with an old rural homespun, which has been washed at high temperature but also has a few tiny darker age spots.
