Dai Wedding Blanket Cushion

This beautiful long cushion is made from a vintage Dai minority wedding blanket in light and dark blue, camel and off white. To show off the textile which was woven on a narrow loom, I've framed it with a border top and bottom. In order to get the right frame and backing textile, which is an intense indigo, I've cut up a minority skirt. This has the added bonus of the heavily pleated fabric once ironed out, having an interesting wavy texture. There is a zip fastener and feather pad. A unique and exquisite item, perfect for dressing a bed or a special sofa.
