Swat pillow with tiny tassels

This is a lovely example of a vintage Swat marriage pillow that I've left just as the artist designed it. The embroidery is very finely executed on a handwoven natural cotton ground. The pattern is a good small scale with amazingly accurate stitching. The colours in traditional reds, pinks green and tangerine. But mostly I love the tiny little tassels round the outside of the pillow. The pillow is fastened with small gold coloured buttons round the outside, which also adds to its authenticity. It has a feather pad.
