Yoruba cushion with berry stripes

I love these cushions. They are made from a vintage Yoruba aso oke strip-weave that dates to the middle of the last century. The strip-weave is made from cotton and wild silk which gives it a wonderful greige colour. The strips have bands of holes alternating with bands of black in the weft which is very decorative. But best for me is the wonderful berry coloured stripe that runs down the strips. Its a really gorgeous rich colour and in total contrast to the rest of the textile. I've used the aso oke for both sides of the cushion for a premium product, and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
I've been lucky enough to find a whole vintage Yoruba cloth in the beautiful berry colour and I've shown the 2 cushions together in the last photograph.
