Indigo batik cushions

This charming pair of cushions is made from a contemporary shawl from Java Indonesia. The shawl is handwoven from home grown and handspun cotton by an artisan weaver. The textile was then dyed with indigo and wax resist, a process known as batik. The colours are a two tones of indigo and the pattern is very pretty, depicting birds in the bushes. I've used the batik for both sides of the cushions and there are zip fasteners and feather pads.
